How to clean white sneakers at home
White sneakers pick up dust fast in Egypt, especially between spring khamaseen and summer heat. You do not need a washing machine, and you should not use one: hot water and drum agitation loosen glue and yellow the midsole. Here is the five-minute method we use.
What you need

Palc Sneaker Cleaning Foam, a no-rinse shoe cleaner for leather, canvas, mesh, fabric and rubber
- A soft brush or the applicator sponge
- A microfibre cloth and a little water
Step by step

Dry brush first. Knock off loose dust and sand before any liquid touches the shoe. Wet dust turns into a stain.

Remove the laces. Wash them separately in warm soapy water.

Apply the foam. Work it into the upper in small circles, then the midsole, where most of the grey lives.

Wipe, do not soak. A damp microfibre cloth lifts the dirt with the foam.

Air dry away from direct sun and heat. Sun yellows white rubber and cracks leather.

Protect. A protector spray repels water and stains, so the next clean is easier.
What to avoid
Bleach, chlorine and dish soap strip finishes and yellow midsoles. Toothpaste is an internet myth that scratches leather. Washing machines break down adhesives.
